Ok...got lots of responses right away. The golden command is "ulimit -a" (while logged in as the user in question). doing this I noticed this user's "data" was set much much lower to the user with no problems. So all I had to do was add the "ulimit -d <limit>" line to the users .profile and everything is great now.
