Thanks to all who responded.

The Original Question:

I understand that there is no support for the 18GB disks under the KZPAC
controller and that Compaq will not support this configuration.

That being said, if I group (3) 18GB disks and create (2) RAID 5 StorageSets
(18GB and 16GB Approx.) from them, do you know of any problems (Such as data
loss, redundancy issues, etc...) that I could encounter. I was under the
impression that 18GB disks couldn't be configured in this manner, but I have
it configured in the Lab now under Tru64 UNIX. I've labeled the disks,
formatted for UFS and am currently copying data back and forth between the
Luns.

Any input on any possible errors or issues would be appreciated.

Responses:

1) The maximum size supported is 32G and it should be alright. Again Compaq
does not support 18G in this controller even though it works.

2) The issue is the 32gb logical limit still exists. Sure you can create a
3-disk (18gb) raid set, but not a logical volume greater than 32gb.

3) We have been running 18G drives on a KZPAC in a raid 5 configuration for
over a year without any problems. The drives are mounts as UFS partitions
with
oracle data on them.
