disk size "NOT KNOWN" in ESA1000

G'day. I'm looking at a remote ESA10000 via hszterm software.

There are disks in it that are visible when they are not in a storageset,
but once they are put in a storageset their size is "NOT YET KNOWN".
HSZ controllers are running v7.3 of the firmware.

Observe:

ESA10000A_BOT_1>show disk10200

Name Type Port Targ Lun Used by
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

DISK10200 disk 1 2 0
          COMPAQ BB00911CA0 3B05
        Switches:
          NOTRANSPORTABLE
          TRANSFER_RATE_REQUESTED = 20MHZ (synchronous 20.00 MHZ negotiated)
        Size: 17769177 blocks

ESA10000A_BOT_1>add spare disk10200

ESA10000A_BOT_1>show spare

Name Storageset Uses Used by
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

SPARESET spareset DISK10200
ESA10000A_BOT_1>show disk10200

Name Type Port Targ Lun Used by
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

DISK10200 disk 1 2 0 SPARESET
          COMPAQ BB00911CA0 3B05
        Switches:
          NOTRANSPORTABLE
          TRANSFER_RATE_REQUESTED = 20MHZ (synchronous 20.00 MHZ negotiated)
        Size: NOT YET KNOWN

I tried waiting for awhile to see if the status would change, it doesn't.
There are two disks in the array that are behaving this way. They behave
the same if placed in a mirrorset.

Any ideas??

Regards,
