SUMMARY: Reconfigure HSG80 raid set - V5.1

Thanks to alan_at_nabeth.cxo.dec.com, and Hannes Visagie.

My question was how to keep the system, boot, cluster, and quorum disk
intact while reconfiguring the HSG80 from a 3 to a 6 bus configuration.

I added the new disk as a spare set, set the mirror membership to 3, copied
the disk, then reduced the membership to only include the new disk. After
the HSG80 busses were reconfigured from 3 to 6 buses, I added the original
disks back into the mirror set and deleted the new disk.

>remove the old disk
>set ... membership=2

Original question:

I've configured a V5.1 cluster on 2 ES40's with a
pair of HSG80's. The boot, cluster, and quorum disks are
configured in a mirror set with 2 partitioned disks as
follows:

m1 - disk21100 disk31100
m2 - disk11200 disk21200

This cluster was configured utilizing only 3 buses on the
HSG80. The customer now wants to reconfigured the storage
and connect the 3 additional buses for a total of 6
buses. If, prior to upgrading the storage, I delete the
units, mirror set, and disk name, then reconfigure the
storage to 6 buses; will I be able to add the mirror set,
add the unit numbers and then reboot the cluster with all
the data intact?

I won't be physically moving any disks from the where
they are now on the shelves, just adding buses and having
the storage reassign new numbers to the drives. The new
drive numbers for the clustered disks will be:

m1 - disk10400 disk20400
m2 - disk30400 disk40400

Any insight would be appreciated. Thank you.
