LAT printing

Hi Mangers,
hardware info: COMPAQ ALPHA DS10
                                        TRU64 5.1
                                        DEC TERMINAL SERVER 90L

I have an existing server (DEC ALpha 4000/300, TRU64 5.1D) which
has 4 serial printer configured off it. The printers are connected
over the LAN via utp connections to the DEC terminal server (I
believe that is the correct name for it). I need to get these printer
available to the newer server. I have followed the info from the
system documentation and the conf files are below.

After starting LAT on the new server, the printer output a login
prompt to 2 of the printers and the printers refused to output from
the older server. I have only set-up one printer (pr2). I have stopped
LAt on the new server and the system is back to normal.

What I suspect is that the tty device assigned to pr2 - tyy0i - is
somehow configured for logins or the terminal server port is
configure for terminals. Also I am unsure if I should be running LAT
on 2 servers, should I only run LAT on the old server and configure
the new server to use remote instead of LAT? The other question is
how do I permit the new server access to the configured printer on
the older server? The lpr.log shows:

Aug 22 09:46:54 oldserver lpd[8243]: newserver.mydomain.com
does not have access to remote printer xena.mydomain.com

Am I on the right track or just missing something obvious?
thanx.
Dp.
