Summary 2: Maximum disk partition size in Tru64 V5.

All,

Just a follow-on summary to my previous summary. Kevin Partin from Compaq
corrected my previous summary in that the maximum volume (partition) size that
V5.1 supports is 1TB-512K :

        http://www.tru64unix.compaq.com/docs/pub_page/spds.html

This was evidenced as we started observing write errors when writing to a
single monolithic 1.4TB partition :

Aug 23 12:20:02 abcd vmunix: AdvFS I/O error:
 Aug 23 12:20:02 abcd vmunix: Domain#Fileset: raid2_dmn#raid2_fs
Aug 23 12:20:02 abcd vmunix: Mounted on: /abcd
 Aug 23 12:20:02 abcd vmunix: Volume: /dev/disk/dsk11c
 Aug 23 12:20:02 abcd vmunix: Tag: 0x00000177.800b
 Aug 23 12:20:02 abcd vmunix: Page: 0
 Aug 23 12:20:02 abcd vmunix: Block: 2147998080
Aug 23 12:20:02 abcd vmunix: Block count: 16
Aug 23 12:20:02 abcd vmunix: Type of operation: Write
 Aug 23 12:20:02 abcd vmunix: Error: 30
 Aug 23 12:20:02 abcd vmunix: EEI: 0x200
Aug 23 12:20:02 abcd vmunix: To obtain the name of the file on which
Aug 23 12:20:02 abcd vmunix: the error occurred, type the command:
 Aug 23 12:20:02 abcd vmunix: /sbin/advfs/tag2name /abcd /.tags/375

On repartitioning it into two 700GB LUNs we did not see these write errors. To
get a single 1.4TB file set we would then need to then combine these two 700GB
volumes into one file set using addvol from the "ADVFS-UTILITIES PAK" (which of
course we don't have).
