Hi all,
We have been running a GS160 14/731GHZ + 32 GB) in a 4.0G ORacle 7.3.4
environment.
The problem was the system doesn't take advantage of the the NUMA
features.
and just runs as a big vanilla unix SMP system.
We had serious performance issues and the consensus was to upgrade
to 5.1 withOra 8i.
Since we upgraded couple of weeks ago .. we have serious performance
downgrade
and the system has become very unstable too..
And we made the Database to run on the first QBB with 4cpus+8GB memory.
The system now crashes more often then before with this..
compaq is working onsite to fix the problemss... with 1 week passed with no
major
gains..
If anybody have helpful info abt the similar configuration/problems , I
would appreciate the
steps taken.. to solve the problems.
Our environment is: unix 5.1+pk3,FW v6.0, Ora 8.1.7.2, BaaN ivc..

What kind-a gotchas and performance problems will we experience running
Tru64 UNIX v4.0G on a GS160 (w/16 1GHz CPUs and 32GB memory)?
