Hi,

We are running Tru64Unix 5.0a on a ES40. The disks are connected via fibre
switch. Our export of our large oralce database has has out grown the 2*36gb
(stripe) disks, and we planning to add two more disk thus giving us a single
(4*36gb) stripe disk.

I have tried using the tar command to just backup the directory structure on
the disk but it just ignores the exclude files
what am I doing wrong.

# tar cvf /exp1/exp1.tar -e *.ful -C /exp1/*
a /exp1/backups/
a /exp1/backups/CUST/
a /exp1/backups/CUST/archive/
a /exp1/backups/CUST/custarc05Aug01.ful 182 Blocks <<<<

Regards

Mark
