Is there a workaround for 4.0F to 5.0A upgrade problems?

Hi,

Tried upgrading and ES40 running 4.0F to 5.0A over the weekend. The process
hangs halfway through the update. I've traced a couple of similiar failure
reports in the summaries but no solutions to the problem other than go
4.0F to 4.0G to 5.1.

Does anyone know if there is a fix or do I have to shopping for the new
kits?
