Summary: lp0: printer offline

Thanks to Dr. Thomas Blinn for a quick answer.

As I suspected, the message is essentially harmless,
it just means that my printer software tries to access
a printer on the local parallel port and since there
is nothing connected to it, the kernel gives the error
message.

I probably just leave it as it is since apart from the
error message there are no harmful effects. To fix it
you either change the printer software (cups in my case)
not to look at /dev/lp0 or you could remove the /dev/lp0
special device file (might be problematic on Tru64 5.x
since the device file would be recreated at the next
reboot).
