Hello,
I wanted to resize swap and usr partitions without destroying
the data on them but it seems to be definitively not possible.
So the solutions are:
- Goto to single user mode (swap is not used on that state),
resize that partition, create a new one for usr (with the
desired size), and then in multiuser mode use addvol/rmvol
to leave usr_domain as desired. (this require advfs license).
- To do a full installation of the operating system, making
a backup up if necessary.
- Others, with the same idea behind the first.
I wonder if would be too difficult to create a software for
tru64 unix like the "Partition Magic" from Powerquest which
works for Windows platforms. I think much people would save
a lot of time with an application like this. It would be
possible to know details of implementation of advfs to allow
someone to make a software like this? people from Compaq?
Thanks to all who took the time to answer my question:
