Problems configuring gdb on a alphaev6-dec-osfp4.0 host

Hello,

When running configure to build gdb on a COMPAQ XP1000
(uname -a => OSF1 xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx P4.0 125.9 alpha) I get
the following error:

$ ./configure
...
configure: error: *** Gdb does not support host alphaev6-dec-osfp4.0
Configure in /zzz/zzz/gdb-4.18/gdb failed, exiting.
$

The same happens both for gdb-4.18 and gdb-5.0. I have seen another
similar post to this mailing list, but I could not find any summary.

Please help!
