SYN_COOKY support??

Hi everybody
I wanted to ask about the possable hints
to protect my system OSF1 V4.0 (kitname >DUV40FAS0002-19991116> OSF440)
against sync denial of service.Is there any variable that needs to be
changed
in the running kernel or is there any specific patch for this.
