Many thanks to Thierry. I was looking in completely the wrong direction.

bm1 # hwmgr -show scsi -did 12 -full

SCSI DEVICE DEVICE DRIVER NUM DEVICE FIRST
HWID: DEVICEID HOSTNAME TYPE SUBTYPE OWNER PATH FILE VALID PATH
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
   85: 12 bm1 disk none 2 4 dsk1 [2/1/1]

      WWID:01000010:6000-1fe1-0010-a9b0-0009-1080-0585-0025

      BUS TARGET LUN PATH STATE
      ------------------------------
      1 1 1 stale
      1 0 1 stale
      2 1 1 valid
      2 2 1 valid

This shows the faulty paths as stale and can easily be grep'ed and awk'ed.

Tru64 5.1 cluster PK 3 - 2 x HSG80, 2 x 8-EL

I am trying to automate the detection of path failures to a HSG80 and 8-EL
fibre system.
I can use the
        /usr/lbin/hsxterm5 -f /dev/disk/dsk11a < inputcommand.txt > hsg80.out
syntax to get information from the HSG80s into a file.

Anyone got any ideas how I can do similar with the Fibre Switch ?
