I am faced with reinstalling 4.0D from a CD on an AlphaStation 400
4/233.
Everything seems to go fine and I can login as root and establish a
network connection. However the console window states that OSF-BASE,
UNIX-WORKSTATION or UNIX-SERVER license cannot be found. When I add
myself as a user, I cannot login and get the message "too many users
logged on..." The installation cdrom is a generic one for this campus.
We get a general lmf script each year for licensing which I have run
but the log messages remains. What am I missing in the installation?
I last installed 4.0D about 5 years ago on this machine but I cannot
find my installation notes.
