Hello all,
A strange thing happened to my system and I thought about sharing it
with you and get some feedback.
I have an ES40 running True64 Unix V 4.0G, has 4 CPU's
I rebooted it after running continously for 6 monthes, when I got the
message:
" Can't find an OSF-BASE, UNIX-WORKSTATION, or UNIX-SERVER license PAK"
I new that there was something related to a missing license, so I got
my license folder and checked, but I didn't find the licenses I needed
there (the MAIN OSF-BASE license that came with the system..(my fault)).
Any way, I called Compaq and they gave me a temp license till I find my
missing one, which me and my Compaq vendor are trying to dig for it.
My concern is, Why it got deleted or got missed from the license
database?
Is there a way to get it back through manipulating the files ldb and
ldb_history?? (I have a backup of them, but I went something like 2
monthes ago, and the files are exactly the same).
Can I do a lmf issue command,?
I have multiple OSF-BASE licenses, which one will it issue?
Any suggestions or expert experience will be highly appreciated..
