Is moving a mail server to DMZ a good Idea?

Hello Gurus,


FYI:
Have a mail server(Tru64 V4.0f) with 2 Nics, one inside a net 10 Network
and the other on a DMZ. Now the Network Specialists is requesting me to
move the entire mail server to DMZ. Why? Well his justification is that
SMTP Mail is risking the Internal Network more than it is to move the
entire mail server to DMZ.


Do you guys think this is a good idea?
Isn't this very risky?
Shoud I just leave the server where it is?
