Has shm-max under ipc become obsolete for 5.1 Tru64 Unix? Under 4.x
believe this parameter controlled system V shared memory region size. If
one set this to 2g and brought up an Oracle database with 6g sga, then
there would be 3 2g shared memory segments created. Max setting was 2g
- 8bytes due I believe to some System V address limitation.
Now this parameter doesn't seem to do anything under 5.1 Tru64 Unix. I
noticed on one of my systems this parameter is set to 1G and I was able to
bring up a 3g shared memory segment which came up in two pieces, i.e
2130706432 and 1166016512 . I'm not using gh_rad_regions
