Thanks to Daniel Clar for letting me know it was possible.
My problem turned out to be an issue of ownership.
I had previously installed Netscape Fastrack under a user other than httpd, and set forums up that way as well.
The new "Compaq Secure Web" installed with httpd as the owner and that prevented forums from running correctly.
The fix:
I re-ran "./avf-configure -install_background" and gave it the httpd user.
Then I did a chown -R httpd on /usr/opt/altavista/forums and on my forums data dir.

RE: Altavista Forums??
Managers,
Is anyone running Altavista Forums 98 with Apache.
I have been running Altavista Forums 98 with Netscape Fasttrack for a couple of years under DU 4.0d.
I just upgraded this machine to Tru64 V5.1a. I hoped we could start using the new Compaq Secure Web Server instead of Netscape Fasttrack. (Really Secure Web is just a preconfigured Apache Server with SSL, PHP, and Tomcat.)
I have followed the forums 98 apache install instructions at
http://www.nav.com/inst_en.htm#apache.
Now, when I try to access the forums dispatch.cgi program, dispatch.cgi gets launched, but it never finishes and I don't get a displayed page.
Any ideas would be appreciated. I still have a DU 4.0d machine running an older version of Apache. I guess I could try setting up forums on it.
Thanks
Greg
