AlphaServer 4100 with prompt of Eh?

Hi Managers,

I have an AlphaServer 4100 running Tru64 4.0g patchkit as0003 &
firmware 5.8.
The server stopped responding in multi-user mode
and upon investigation through the serial connection
all that the machine was displaying was Eh?.

Is this an early warning of problems to come?
There was no information in the messages or
uerf logs regarding this event.
