Hi,
Every answer was to check the /etc/hosts.equiv or <user>/.rhosts file..which
both appeared fine..
The only problem was that those files contained the actual machine names,
but they needed the cluster alias that our users login as .. once I added
that rsh worked for the user I was trying
thanks everyone
M.

Subject: running rsh as a non-root user
Hi,
I'm trying to set something up using rsh between two clustered machines.
Using rsh with root works fine.
But I'm trying to do it with a different user (from the root account)
and I
get the message 'Permission denied'.
How do I allow a non-root user to use rsh?
(the command I'm doing as root is: rsh <machine> -l <login> <command>)
tia
