Dear Admin's,
i want to move a disk in a Storage Works Box from for example: SCSI ID 0 -> to
SCSI-ID 1.
old:
HWID: Device Name Mfg Model Location
351: /dev/disk/dsk41c DEC RZ1DF-CB (C) DEC bus-1-targ-0-lun-0
new:
351: /dev/disk/dsk41c DEC RZ1DF-CB (C) DEC bus-1-targ-1-lun-0
Another idea is to move the disk from one bus to another bus in a running
system.
This will happen, because some disks will move from a external box to an
Storage Works Box while machine is running.
After movement i see the disk with: hwmgr -show scsi on the right place, but
with hwmgr -view devices it's on the old place. Wrong SCSI-ID in hwmgr -view
devices!
One possibility seems to: unmount the disk
remove the disk
remove the entry for this disk (dsk41), how????
insert the disk on the new place
hwmgr -scan scsi - now seen okay
A reboot will help, too. But i have Storage Works.
There is the command: hwmgr -delete scsi -did 3 but, the man page told
me, that's not possible
to include -member 1
And there are any other machine with same did 3.
Could i use this command anyway?
Any hints?
Thanks, H. Baumgartner
