front end script to lp/lpr

Hi everyone,
Is there anybody have written a front end script to lp/lpr to check the
size of a document to printed and if the size is less than specified goto
lpr if more than specified then dump the print job to a tmp dir and email
me.

We are using Compaq Tru64 UNIX 5.0A.
