All,
Thanks to Michael G., Alan, Robert W., and or course Dr. Thomas Blinn
for the prompt replies. Basically the consensus was that there should
be a great deal of compatibility; however, some software (especially
software that uses kernel data) will be the least compatible. Also it
was suggested that I look into the release notes and compare
compatibility there. After all is said and done though it seems the
only true way to tell if the software will work is to try it and find
out.
Thanks for all the replies!

Subject: 4.0D - 4.0G Compatibility
Managers,
I'm looking for Compaq based confirmation that software compiled and run
on a DU 4.0d platform will work without question on a DU 4.0g platform.
For example I need to know what compiler packages have the same
compatibility (i.e. cxx 5.x.x on 4.0d with cxx x.x.x on 4.0g) across
platforms. Any resources or answers you present are greatly
appreciated.
TIA,
Brandon Malli
