SUMMARY: information about security announcements

The solution to this was to real all my e-mail messages before responding
to the first ones! After the whole bunch of uninformative announcements
was a *much* more useful one from Rich Boren entitled
 TITLE: Tru64 UNIX Potential Security Vulnerability,
       Privileged App. Core Files and Temp File/Symbolic
       Links With Temp Files (SSRT1-41U, SSRT0742U, SSRT0759U)

I'm not sure what to recommend to people who did not see it, because I
don't know if it is stored on the web somewhere. But I apologise to Compaq
and withdraw pretty well everything I said.
