Crontab errors

Hello Tru Gurus,

FYI:
Have an alpha server(v4.0f) running Netscape Web Server that does not
allow me to modify any cron jobs(using crontab -e). Everytime I need
to modify it I need to vi the /usr/spool/cron/crontabs/root file and
restart the cron daemon.


Q:
Does anybody have a fix to this so that I can just use the crontab -e?
