Compaq support suggested to use DILX to wipe out the disk.
Good/bad idea? Alternative?

Xavier

PS: 'disklabel -z' gives the same error

Subject: [Tru64] Cannot read/write disklabel?
Hi,
I created a mirror of 2 disk on a HSG80. The disk is recognized by the server after a 'hwmgr -scan scsi'.
'hwmgr -shoc scsi' reports:
[...]
  323: 45 sinclair disk none 0 4 dsk33 [2/2/20]
[...]
Then I got the following error:
[ root_at_osborne clustercron ] # disklabel -r dsk33
disklabel: dsk33: Error 1024 occurred.
[ root_at_osborne clustercron ] # disklabel -rw dsk33 HSG80
disklabel: dsk33: Error 1024 occurred.
Any idea?
Xavier
