Thanks to everyone who contributed to this trying problem especially David
J. DeWolfe.
The solution is simply to use a NAS device that is certified by Oracle.
You can get the list of (Oracle) certified devices at:
http://www.oracle.com/ip/deploy/database/storage/index.html?vendors.html

Hi Managers
I am experimenting with a NAS device. I have setup my database files
on a NAS device and then I tried to start it up. I get the following
error
message:
SVRMGR>alter database open resetlogs
*
ORA-00344: unable to re-create online log '/nas/TEST/log4TEST.dbf'
ORA-27086: skgfglk: unable to lock file - already in use
Compaq Tru64 UNIX Error: 77: No locks available
Additional information: 8
SVRMGR>
Can anyone help?
Thanks in advance.
Best Regards
Andre
