We recently had a rogue program that trashed the ownership of
files in system directories. The next morning users got the message
that too many people were logged on and refused access. This is a
message that I associate with our license becoming outdated. However
the license in this case seems ok. We have tried to restore the
ownership of the trashed files by using a mirror machine as a guide
but still cannot access the machine via telnet. However we can quite
happily access it via ssh. We have looked at the telnet/telnetd files
and they look ok. Anyone have any idea what the problem is?
With thanks in advance
