7.2 isn't quite ready yet for Alpha, for now most folks suggest to use
7.1. The folks on the project hope to have 7.2 out in May (that's not
a guarantee).
And one person suggests FreeBSD as a better alternative in his
experience.
7.1 is available at
ftp://ftp.redhat.com/pub/redhat/redhat-7.1-en/iso/alpha/
Or you can buy it for $29 at
http://www.compaq.com/alphaserver/linux/
Many thanks to all who responded, especially Dr. Blinn, who forwarded
my question to someone on the project who actually called me with
authoritative information.

Sorry for the somewhat OT post, but we're at a loss, and it seems that
someone here might know the answer. Redhat's site says "get 7.2 for
Alpha from Compaq." Compaq's site says "sure we have it, we'll
install it on anything for you," but no pointers we've found for where
to download it. Anyone know where we can download it? Thanks.
