Dear Gurus,

We had a problem with one of our RA8000 (HSG80 Controller). One of the two
Raid set lost one 36 GB hardisk
And got degraded. But the failed set never got replaced by the spare set.
Moreover when we changed the
Policy of the raidset from best_fit to nopolicy and issued the following
command

Set raid1 remove=DISK20300
Followed by
Set raid1 replace=DISK20300

It came out with errors and with flickering amber light.

Then we deleted the failed set removed and initialized a new disk and tried
to add. But that also came out with
The same error. But we could create a new raid set using the failed disks -
clearly indicating nothing wrong with
The physical disk.

What could be going wrong. Kindly Reply.

Thanks in advance
