Upgrade to 5.1 or try to integrate HP?

I have an Alpha Server 2000, running Tru64 Unix 4.0g. On this server we
are running a 90% modified version of the sigma-micro controller. (Most
of their users are running on AIX on RSC6000 etc)

I think I understand that the standard support ends Sep 30, 2002 but we
can buy "Previous Version Support" for an additional year. Exactly what
does that mean and who would I contact at Compaq for prices etc?

What options do we have. There are probably a lot of users who are in my

situation or nearly. Whatever software they are running is not supported

on 5.x.

Do we continue on with the upgrade to 5.1 or do we investigate the HP
option? If we do the HP or AIX won't that involve new hardware??

Any thoughts and ideas would be greatly appreciated.
