lpd daemon " no daemon present "

Hi Folks;

Im Trying to connect my remote printer lg12plus trough network but in status
line it gives me " no daemon present " messages and I cant connect and
print
anyone know what doest in mean this messages and how solve it ? I'll be so
gratefull
and in
/usr/spool/lpd1/status
file writen
Thu Mar 28 11:50:38 2002: waiting for rapid2 to come up

rapid2 is my remote computername I can send ping packets to it
My OS is tru64 5.1
