System freezing with ftp over gigabit ethernet

Managers,
I have a situation here when a user (oracle) tries to ftp some large 20gig
files over the gigabit ethernet and the entire GS-140 system freezes. I
could hardly log on form the console in 6 minutes and every command took
many minutes to return back.
We are running 5.1A pk3
Any suggestions ?
