Original Post:
We have two ES45s in a v5.1a TruCluster using a gigabit inter-connect.
We want to run a daemon on each node that binds to a tcp port (e.g. 536).
Therefore, we added the relevant line to /etc/services (e.g. <service-name>
536/tcp).
We can start the daemon on the first node without problem. However, when we
start the daemon on the second node we get an error message stating that the
address is already in use.
Unfortunately, to enable the daemons to talk to each other they must be on
the same port.
This wouldn't be a problem with two stand-alone servers.
Does anyone know how the cluster treats services and how we can work-around
this problem?
Many thanks
Frank
Summary:
Thanks to Warren Sturm, Dr. Thomas Blinn, Charles Ballowe, Greg Palmer,
Keith Strange, Chris Adams, Alexandre Kardanev and Johan Brusche.
The answer was within /etc/clua_services.
Adding the line "<service name> 537/tcp in_multi,static" to
/etc/clua_services and then running cluamgr -f on each node.
Regards
Frank
