noisy XP1000 audio

        Hi

  The audio output from my XP1000 is very noisy (background "hiss"). It is
noticeable from both line-out and earphone jack. The motherboard got
replaced, but it didn't help. PWS 433au has the same sound chip (ESS
1888/1887) but with clear sound... The OS is 5.1B, MME 3.4. Mixer settings
don't help.

So, is the sound chip on XP1000 broken by design or what? Do people have
similar problems?
