I did a testing on restoring the whole OS from DS20 to another AS1000 by using tape(vdump/vrestore). AS1000 can be booted up easily by rebuilding the hardware files and rebuilding kernel (Details please refer to another thread " Can't boot after image migration from DS20E to A1000" ).

However, I just want to know whether this practice does apply on restoring an image from ES40 to ES80?? i.e. from an old model to a newer model. Thanks a lot.
