Many thanks to Alan Rollow at Dr. File System's Home for Wayward Inodes,
Bryan Mills, Russ Schaefer, Richard Mollel, Arnold Sutter, and Milton
James.

Transitioning from DLT to SDLT has reduced errors by a significant amount
(25%-50%) for some.

Arnold mentioned that we need to be sure we have the same version of
firmware on each drive. This can be found by going to www.hp.com, clicking
on storage on the left column, then search for "Library tape tools".
Version 3.3 is the current version.

There were multiple questions regarding our environment and how the tapes
were being stored. We have been encountering dust on the tape and tape
material on the heads of the drives that have been examined (the FE does
not examine every drive that is replaced).

Thanks for the advice!
