B4 purchasing from an Alpha vendor a fan, i decided to
tryout ...I found a FAN that fits exactly onto the
CPU....
This fan was part of a Dr. Thermal CPU Cooler designed
for overclocking AMD Athlon 1.4Ghz, Athlon XP 1900+
So i said let me try this b4 ordering Alpha specific
fan. The machine still claims that the FAN is failed.
I know the FAN works. It works on a PC.

The removed alpha fan, does not work when tested on
the PC, which suggests that it was really dead.

Question: Is there anything "specific" about the FAN,
even though it looks so generic, or might the board be
to blame?

Our purchasing is rather cumbersome, so I try to make
sure that the component i order is really the only
thing needed to fix the problem.

_Thanks

Ricardo.
