All,
Although I did not recieve any replies from the list I thought that this
information might be useful for someone. We have only recently sorted the
problem out, so hence the late summary.
The main changes that were done are that we are using a text to postscript
translation filter called "ppdof". You should be able to do a "man ppdof"
to get more information such as paramaters etc.... Also a script was run
which was downloaded from HP's website called InstallLpdLexmarkOptraT612.sh
which was specifically for the type of printer that we are using.
The entry in the printcap file now looks like this
despatch|lp5|lp11|despatch:\
:af=/usr/adm/lp11acct:\
:if=/usr/lbin/ppdof +OPageSize=A4 +Ocpi=12 +Olpi=7 +Olandscape
+ClexmarkT612.rpd:\
:of=/usr/lbin/ppdof +OPageSize=A4 +Ocpi=12 +Olpi=7 +Olandscape

:lp=/dev/lp0:\
:mx#0:\
:pl#66:\
:pw#0:\

Original question below.

Apologies for the previous one! more details!
I have a problem where I am trying to change the font size of the print
outs. The printer is parallel attached to the server and none of the
settings that I change seem to have any effect. I have tried changing the
settings on the actual printer (Lexmark Optra T612) and also playing around
with the parameters below all to no avail.
despatch|lp11|despatch:\
:af=/usr/adm/lp11acct:\
:fs#12:\
:if=/usr/lbin/pcfof +Chpdj1120c_a4.pcf:\
:lf=/usr/adm/lp11err:\
:lp=/dev/lp0:\
:mx#0:\
:of=/usr/lbin/pcfof +Chpdj1120c_a4.pcf:\
:sd=/usr/spool/lpd11:\
:xf=/usr/lbin/xf:\
:Or=landscape:
Would anyone be able to offer any help/advice?
Server: DS20 with TRU64 5.1A PK4 applied.
