Well, despite the multitude of good advice that I received I was unable to
correct the problem with the machine. It seems that the root_domain got
corrupted in some way when the CPU was replaced and fixfdmn couldn't repair
all the issues. I'm going to have to reload the OS to get this machine in
production.
Thanks to everyone who responded.

*original message*
This is an Alphaserver 1000A running Tru64 5.1A. Recently it had CPU0
replaced and now it hangs on bootup with the following error messages:
vm_swap_init: warning /dev/disk/dsk0b swap device not found
vm_swap_init: warning swap is re-set to lazy (over commitment) mode
vm_swap_init: warning /dev/disk/dsk1b swap device not found
Any insight would be appreciated.
TIA,
Laura
