Thanks to "ASK Compaq", the problem is resolved.

It turned out to be that there was no alias in the hosts
file for the fully qualified host name.

The Original question was:
==========================

Hi all,

I have freshly installed V5.1B and have a problem with the
Application Manager on the CDE control panel unable to find
the correct path to the Desktop APPS Group directory.
( ie: It cant find /var/dt/appconfig/appmanager/user-hostname-0 ).

The same problem exists for the Filemanager.

I get the error "invalid folder specification -
   /var/cluster/members/{memb}/dt/appconfig/appmanager/user-hostname-0 "

I have checked all of the links down the path and all are correct
compared with a working system. The problem seems to be in
translating ( or not translating ) the {memb} link.

dtappgather and dtsearchpath build the path to the Applications
Group for each user at login and this doesn't seem to be working
correctly.

Any help would be appreciated.

 Regards,
 John Welsh.
