No; Navigator 9 is a standalone browser; Netscape 7 is the most recent browser suite produced by Netscape.

Can I run Netscape Navigator 9 alongside Netscape 7.x?

Yes; Navigator 9 is compatible with the Windows Vista operating system, and you should experience no major problems in using the two together.

No, but we are looking into the possibility of offering translations.

How do I manually import bookmarks?

To import bookmarks from another browser, select Import from the File menu of the main Navigator browser window.

To import bookmarks from a file, select Organize Bookmarks from the Bookmarks menu of the main Navigator browser window, and then select Import Bookmarks from the File menu of the Bookmarks Manager.

How do I create profiles in Navigator 9?

To open the Profile Manager, take the following steps:

Windows: Select Run from the Start Menu and type navigator.exe -ProfileManager

Mac: Open Terminal.app and type /Applications/Navigator.app/Contents/MacOS/navigator -ProfileManager (assuming that you installed Navigator in the Applications folder).

Linux: In the terminal, run navigator -ProfileManager from the directory where you installed Navigator.

How can I install plugins (Windows Media Player, ShockWave, etc.)? They appear to install but do not work.

We are working on resolving this with the plugin vendors.

Where can I download older versions of Netscape browsers?

You can download previous releases from the Netscape browser archive.

Where is Netscape Browser 8? Can I still download it?

Yes; you can still download Netscape Browser 8 (and all other previous versions of Netscape browsers) from the browser archive.

Where can I find support for Netscape 8?

Although it is highly recommended you download the latest browser, you can still find support for Netscape 8 at the Netscape Community Forums.

Netscape 7.x

How can I fix the error "Unable to write email to mailbox"?

The most likely cause is a corrupt Inbox file, caused by not compacting the Inbox. To fix this problem, select from the File menu. Wait for the process to complete and the issue should be resolved.

If the error persists, follow these suggested steps.
