この章では，POLYCENTER Software Installation Utility (PCSI) による日本語 DECprint Supervisor ソフトウェアのインストール方法について説明します。 PCSI ユーティリティについての詳細と PRODUCT コマンドの使用方法については，『 HP OpenVMS システム管理者マニュアル』および『 HP OpenVMS システム管理ユーティリティ・リファレンス・マニュアル』，あるいはオンライン・ヘルプを参照してください。
2.1 概要
日本語 DECprint Supervisor (DCPS) for OpenVMS ソフトウェアのインストールは，以下の手順で行ってください。

PostScript 形式のリリース・ノートは次のコマンドで取り出すことができます。

インストレーション中に，PCSI は質問のためのプロンプトを表示します。質問の最後には，大括弧 ([]) で囲まれたデフォルトの応答が表示されます。応答を入力し [Return] キーを押してください。
デフォルトの応答をそのまま適用する場合は，そのまま [Return] キーを押します。応答すべき内容がよくわからない場合は，疑問符 (?) を入力します。この場合 PCSI は応答に関する説明を表示し，プロンプトを再度表示します。
日本語 DECprint Supervisor のインストレーション固有のメッセージについては， 付録 B.4 節 に示されています。
2.3 ソフトウェアのインストレーション
この節では，DCPS ソフトウェアのインストレーション時に表示されるすべてのテキストを引用しているわけではありません。 PCSI インストレーションの実行例については， 付録 A を参照してください。 |
インストレーションの手順は以下のとおりです。

directoryには， DCPS の PCSI キットの場所を指定します。
/DESTINATION 修飾子あるいは論理名 PCSI$DESTINATION による代替インストール先の指定は行わないでください。 DCPS はシステム・ディスクのクラスタ共通領域にインストールする必要があるため，代替インストール先の指定に関係なく，システム・ディスクのクラスタ共通領域にインストールされます。

If these files remain, they will be used instead of the DCPS product

ディレクトリが存在しないなどの理由でファイルがサイト固有の DCPS$LAYUP ディレクトリにコピーできない場合は，次のようなメッセージが表示されます。

DCPS, when so configured, will store temporary spool files in directory
[DCPS$SPOOL]. By default, this directory is created in SYS$COMMON.
It is recommended that you choose a non-system disk for this directory.

デバイス名だけ指定しても，デバイス名とディレクトリ名を指定してもかまいません。 表 2-1 にいくつかの例を示します。
