Dear Wizard:
Sorry that this is not a very technical question.
Why doesn't DEC have a product for ZMODEM file transfers.
With the wide spread use of PC's, we have a need to
write applications that use ZMODEM through an API.
DEC offers so many products, I can't believe this
doesn't exist.
I have been calling and looking around for such a product
with no hope. Our past solution was to use a public
domain version of zmodem and modify the source.
zmodem problems/errors lately have lead us to search
for a supported product.
Any suggestions?
The ZMODEM protocol is owned by Omen Technology. Omen sells a
ZMODEM product for VMS.. They also offer a freeware version, but it is
limited functionality and will interoperate only with licensed ZMODEM
implementations. The ZMODEM product will interoperate with licensed
and unlicensed versions (what Omen did was change the protocol a couple
of years ago.)

Omen's WWW home page describes their products, including "Commercial
RZ/SZ for VMS". In any event, the user looking for a supported product
should purchase it from Omen.
