Ask the Wizard Questions

SCSI device on VAXstation 3100

The Question is:

I am sorry for this question as it is not purely vms
more of a hardware question but i have been unable to
trace a contact for the info.

I need to know the most devices able to be attached to
the scsi bus on a microvax 3100-90:
I have 2 busses, dka*: and dkb*:

once again i am sorry for this question, but i need to
know rather urgently.

Many Thanks,

The Answer is:

3 scsi devices internally on buss a (or 2 plus floppy or tape depending
    on enclosure).

Externally you can theoretically conect up to 7 devices but are limited
in the extenal length of the buss. If you use a storageworks shelf, you
can run 7 devices. If you use the older SA12 and 16 2 drive
enclosures, you can have two enclosures, perhap 3 if you keep the
cables real short... only 2 is supported though.
