Ask the Wizard Questions

Tape: TZ867 cartridge selection

The Question is: 

We currently have 3 TZ867 tape drives which hold 7 cartridges each.
Is it possible to select cartridges from this drive (robotic control)
without utilizing an additional DEC product such as (SLS, PAB or MRU)?
 If not, do you know of any sharware utilitie s that would provide
access to these drives?  Does OpenVMS 6.2 support them?

The Answer is: 

The TZ867 is supported by OpenVMS V6.2.  You could write a program to select a
particular cartridge.  Why bother?  MRU already does what you want.
