DCL: Error

The Question is: 

WITHIN A COMMAND FILE IS THERE A WAY TO FREE UP MEMORY
WHILE A COMMAND FILE IS STILL RUNNING? WE HAVE A COMMAND FILE
WHICH RUN A UTILITY TO RESIZE  FILES
BUT IT KEEPS SO MUCH IN MEMORY THAT
IT CAN'T FINISH WITHOUT ERRORS.

   to encounter quota-limitations, it's difficult to determine just what
   is going on here without seeing the error message(s) and command(s)
   involved.
