OVMS run on Alpha XL?

The Question is: 

Can I run openVMS on an Alpha XL, or do I have to
use an AlphaStation?

The Answer is: 

OpenVMS will not boot on the Alpha XL series.  You must use an AlphaStation,
or one of a selected set of Alpha systems sold by other vendors such as
Carerra (make sure the model you pick is supported for OpenVMS - not all
are.)
