History and other comments

I got this machine in from Germany, in the spring of 2007. When I got it it was close to original condition, with only one exception; the small hatch door on the front panel was missing. This, of course, doesn't affect the functionality of the computer itself in any way, it's just a cosmetic flaw. The original DEC RZ26L SCSI disks are in place, I've only added the graphics card. In the picture below you can see the disks, CD-ROM and empty space reserved for TC option cards (the graphics adapter / TC options aren't yet installed):

Update in October 2007. I got some more RAM (upgraded from 160 MB to 192 MB) and also got the missing hatch door. This is how the system looks now, running with a BA353 SBB SCSI box on top:

The memory SIMMs are organised in a special way in a DEC 3000/600 as you can see below, one bank of SIMMs consist of eight proprietary SIMMs:

There are three TC option cards installed now, DEFTA-AA FDDI network adapter to the left, PMAD-A 10Mbps ethernet network adapter in the middle and then the PMAGB-BA TC graphics to the right.

Update in November 2007:  This computer now has a great looking truecolor framebuffer PMAGC-A installed. It's not as big as the PMAG-F but at least it occupies 2 TC slots:
